alta lake state park is a public recreation area located two miles (3.2 km) southwest of pateros, washington.it is spread in 181 acres with pine tree forestation.the park is managed by the washington state parks and recreation commission. alta lake is about two miles long and a half mile wide. a jeweler and miner from wilbur named the lake in 1900 after his daughter, alta heinz.in 2014,the carlton complex fire swept through the region and damaged parts of the park and left a landscape of twisted black trees.but through replantation n restoration, the place has evolved more beautiful than before.this place is peaceful, quiet, clean and best for camping.campers pitch their tents and bring their rvs to the campsites above the lake. boaters take off for far corners, many with fishing poles. alta lake tempts adventurers with good trout fishing, waterskiing, sailboarding, hiking and windsurfing during the summer. rangers are also available and constantly make rounds around the campsite. the place has wifi facilities and also got little shops for food. it has become a tradition for families to come to this place and experience the serenity of nature.
